Bloggers and companies keep track of how well their posts or products are doing by analyzing their performance. This helps them understand what their audience or clients prefer, demand, and desire, so they can offer them what they want. Today, analytics is a crucial tool for any business, and many are trying to automate the process. We developed a service that does just that.

Web App for Marketplace Analytics

Our client wanted a web app for marketplace analytics. They wanted a service that would collect various product data and provide it to the user, helping them create a production model that would maximize their profit. Although it sounds simple, we had to develop a complex system to provide accurate information.

Parser for Collecting Daily Statistics

We developed a parser that collects daily statistics on products, brands, and categories from marketplaces. The data is stored in the server's database, and displayed in the user's dashboard based on their pricing plan.

User-friendly Dashboard

When creating the service, we focused on making the dashboard easy to use, as it had to hold a lot of data from different categories. We split the main information into three sections:

  1. Categories section displays sales data, revenue data, product page visits, average product rating, product count, and sales count for the selected product type.
  2. Brands section provides data on any manufacturer.
  3. Groups section lets users navigate through selected product groups.

Results

Projects can face unforeseen issues at any time that can affect the team's plans. When we were almost done with development, and preparing to move the MVP version of the service into production, a data center hard drive crashed. We lost data, but managed to restore it in a hurry, and successfully released the project. Things happen, but stress management and reserve data saved our project.
